Our purpose is to enrich lives by offering grace and understanding through the art of storytelling, the practice of mentorship, and the gift of hospitality.
Rosebud Theatre, Rosebud School of the Arts and the Rosebud Mercantile are all part of the legal entity, Rosebud School of the Arts, governed by the Rosebud School of the Arts Act. The Objects of the Act are as follows:
To advance education by:
To advance the public’s appreciation of the arts by:
To advance the Christian faith by promoting the inclusive and grace-filled worldview embodied in the life of Jesus Christ and found in the Christian gospels;
To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the objects of the Organization.
Rosebud Theatre & School of the Arts strives to honour and respect the diverse cultures, languages, abilities, and perspectives that each student and staff member brings to the organization. We believe that every person is created in the image of God – all are welcome.
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that welcomes the humanity of our students, staff, contract instructors, guest artists, board members, donors, and patrons. In alignment with the Alberta Human Rights Act, our welcome is independent of religion, race, colour, ancestry, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, and age.
Through these commitments, RTSA endeavours to cultivate a community where every individual can experience belonging, growth, and the transformative power of grace and understanding.
Rosebud is located in the same valley where First Nations Peoples have gathered to share story and song for thousands of years. We thank the Siksika Nation, and other nations of Treaty 7, as well as the Metis Nation of Alberta Region 3, for the hospitable spirit embedded in this sacred landscape, and for setting the hopeful example we’re inspired to follow.
