Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of theatre in the Rosebud Opera House

Allen Des Noyers

Enjoy a delicious old-school Rosebud buffet at the Mercantile and a wonderful concert in the Rosebud Opera House.

In 1983, Allen des Noyers started the first theatrical production in Rosebud on an outdoor stage next to the old Mercantile with his play Commedia del' Arte. The show was such a success that it was decided to do another play the following summer in an indoor venue. The old community hall was chosen, and Allen painted a sign, and the Rosebud Opera House was born. His first musical, When the Sun Meets the Earth, opened on the Opera House stage on July 18th, 1984.

Exactly 40 years later on July 18th 2024, Allen will be back at the Opera House celebrating 40 years of theatre on that stage. He will be performing some of the music from When the Sun Meets the Earth, along with a collection of other favourite Rosebud songs. In addition to this, Chef Mo promises to create an old-school Rosebud menu, including some of the original dishes prepared by Mrs. Dahlen.

Join us for a memorable look back at Rosebud in the early days!

Allen's new album, "Sunset Valley Home", featuring newly recorded versions of Rosebud songs, will be available at the concert and at canadianamusical.com. 25% of sales will go to support the RSA Scholarship Fund. Click HERE to hear Allen talking about the early days and his new album.
