“Scrooge? I have to redeem old Scrooge? The one man I knew who was worse than I was? Impossible!”
When arriving at the eternal counting house, miser Jacob Marley signs a contract that reads “…on effecting a Total and Complete Change of Heart on the said subject, Mr. E. Scrooge…all Debts shall be forgiven, all Bonds Broken and you shall be Freed to Seek your Greater Joy.”
And so begins Jacob Marley’s journey to redeem the life of Scrooge in A Christmas Carol.
This re-telling of the classic Dickens's story, old Marley plays a hand in softening Scrooge and at the same time waking himself to the expansive, loving heart he could have shared while on earth.
This exciting and hopeful play that reminds us that all things can be made new and our greatest strength is in our connection to others.
