This exhibition at Rosebud's Akokiniskway Gallery is FREE to attend.
The paintings created by husband and wife artists, Laura & Terry Bachynski, are a celebration of their many road trips around Alberta and the scenes that have inspired their artwork. They may include fields and/or flowers, old trucks or snowy tires, big skies and clouds, trees and old plows. Each image has been a joy to capture on either acrylic on canvas or watercolour on paper. Enjoy the show(s)!
On display at the Akokiniskway Gallery in Rosebud from September 18 - October 24, 2026.
OPENING GALA: October 3rd, 2026, @ 4:00pm at Akokiniskway Gallery.
Refreshments will be served.
Laura Bachynski
Laura Bachynski wears many hats with grace and talent. Wife, mom, grandma, singer/songwriter and children’s book illustrator are among the many. One of her favourites has been visual artist, worn over 3 decades.
Laura studied art at the University of Windsor and always tended to gravitate to the realism painters. She taught art for many years at various schools throughout Alberta and has completed many commissioned works that hang in private collections in Canada, Mexico, the USA and Europe. Her medium is mainly focused in acrylic and watercolour but she also works with ink and graphite.
Terry Bachynski
Terry Bachynski is a “second career” artist having retired from his first career in the energy industry in 2014. Terry began painting in 2001 when he joined his wife in an acrylic painting course …just to try something new. Since then, Terry has explored numerous themes and approaches to painting – from realism to abstract.
Terry primarily works in acrylic and watercolour, and he feels most at home when standing before a large canvas with gobs of paint at the ready to see where his imagination may lead.
