BIO:
Brooklyn McDougall is a multi-media artist from Calgary, and a 2022 Olympian in long track speed skating. As she trains toward the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, her art practice offers both a grounding counterbalance to the demands of elite sport and a way of financially supporting her Olympic journey.
In addition to her Olympic speed skating career, Brooklyn was one of six Olympians selected as a 2024 Paris Olympian Artist. She was commissioned by the Olympic Museum to create three pieces, which were displayed during the Paris 2024 Summer Games. Today, her artwork has found a permanent home at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Art and sport have been constant threads throughout Brooklyn’s life. Growing up surrounded by creativity, she drew early inspiration from her grandparents – her grandmother’s delicate floral watercolours and her grandfather’s expressive portraits. Over time, her own style has naturally evolved as a fusion of those influences, shaped further by her deep connection to nature and biology.
For Brooklyn, creating art is a sacred act. Each piece is a quiet conversation with the memory of her grandparents, a way of honoring their legacy and keeping their spirit alive through her work. Whether on ice or canvas, she is guided by a sense of purpose, discipline, and passion.

Lacey also attended the Canadian Badlands Performing Arts Summer School when she was in high school and got to be part of the Passion Play in 2016-2017. Ever since that camp ended, she always hoped that RTSA would put on a camp of their own!
