Christmas is coming to Rosebud! Decorations are going up in the lobbies of the Rosebud Opera House, Rosebud Studio Stage and the Haskayne-Kenney Mercantile. Chef Mo is sizing up turkeys and experimenting with tasty stuffing.
Christmastide: Music & Stories of the Coming Light, a Rosebud School of the Arts Christmas concoction of poems, music, stories and movement is in rehearsal. David Snider directs a gaggle of new talent in what will be a beautiful Christmas piece swirling around the traditional Christmas story.
The Rosebud Ensemble is in rehearsals for Christmas In Alberta - an annual joint fund-raiser between Rosebud Theatre & School of the Arts and Heritage Park taking place in the stunning Gasoline Alley at Heritage Park, Calgary. More music and more merriment!
And back in Rosebud, Bill Hamm is preparing his choirs for the Annual Christmas Concert.
On stage at the Opera House, Nathan Schmidt as a street-wise storyteller, lights a candle in the dark to bring life to our stage once again. Ron Reed’s adaptation of Dickens A Christmas Carol returns in an utterly magical telling of this traditional Christmas yarn. Yes, one person tells the whole story, surrounded by the onstage swirl of an exquisite set of printed tapestries that portray Dickensian London. We’ll take you to all the familiar places in the story in a way that captures anew the spirit and heart of the original story. It’s an extraordinary feat of imagination and soul.
So, pull those seasonal clothes out of your closets and join us for Christmas in Rosebud! Chefs, Actors, Singers, Servers, and inn-operators all welcome you to celebrate Christmas together. … and there is no more glorious word than “together.”
We’ll be following the pandemic safety protocols that allow us to re-open and enable our patrons to safely experience dinner and live theatre again. (Please see our COVID Information page for details.) Welcome back everyone, and Happy Christmas!
